Television actress Dalljiet Kaur’s personal life has been in the news for the past few months as her highly publicised separation from her husband Nikhil Patel grabbed eyeballs. Dalljiet and Nikhil had a public dispute, with Dalljiet alleging that he was involved in an extramarital affair. The actor, after her separation, is contemplating a redesign for the tattoo the estranged couple once shared. The couple had gotten matching tattoos during their time together, which read ‘Take 2’ symbolising their renewed attempt at love. Dalljiet posted an Instagram reel showcasing a collage of their tattoos.
In her post, she reflected, “A tattoo that represented strength to fall in love again. Strength to trust again. Strength to leave the country and wrapping up everything for love and a hope to have family that me and Jaydon craved so much for. After nine years I took the plunge as I got lost in the fantasy of having a family and all that I was being told to believe. (sic).”
Dalljiet described ‘Take 2’ as her way of giving herself a fresh start. She also mentioned marrying Nikhil to provide her son, Jaydon, from her first marriage to actor Shalin Bhanot, with a father figure. “Take 2 was a chance I gave myself, to call someone my husband. For my son to feel what having a father would feel like,” she penned.
After their bitter separation, Dalljiet feels there is nothing left to fix and therefore, she is considering giving her tattoo a makeover. She noted, “Now I know there was no such thing as faith and loyalty, love and respect, togetherness and commitment. It was all about numbers from the very beginning, and loyalty was never on the table. Numbers must be high, so the switch happened quickly! (sic).”
Alluding to Nikhil’s alleged affair, Dalljiet added, “Now I know, when I was being told ‘we will fix this,’ there was a replacement already being fixed too…”

The former Nach Baliye contestant is open to suggestions and ideas for redesigning her tattoo. “Yes I am going to do it. Come up with good ideas, we can do something fun and creative so the healing finally begins Would look forward to some fun ideas,” she said.
Dalljiet married Nikhil Patel on March 10, 2023, in a ceremony attended by family and close friends. This was her second marriage; her first marriage to Shalin ended in 2015 after she accused him of domestic violence.
After eight months of being married to the Kenya-based businessman and moving to Kenya, Dalljiet returned to India with her son Jaydon accusing Nikhil of infidelity. The former couple also announced their separation in June 2024 after which Dalljiet took legal action against Nikhil. The actor recently lodged an FIR against her ex-husband on grounds of cruelty and criminal breach of trust after she accused him of ill-treating her son from her first marriage and causing her mental trauma by refusing to return her jewellery.
After filing the FIR, Dalljiet took to her X handle to share a note of gratitude to police officials for their support. Her post read, “Thank you Jt Comm Of Police Anil Paraskar, DCP Krishnatkant Upadhyay, Senior Inspector Yogendra Pache & IO Sachin Shelke along with a lady constable for your efficiency. Thank you AGRIPADA PS for letting a woman know that she is safe in this country.”
