Venkat Prabhu has finally reacted to the death of his cousin Bhavatharini.
Venkat Prabhu's last pictures with Bhavatharini.Director-actor Venkat Prabhu, who has been silent since the devastating news of Bhavatharini’s death, has finally reacted to the loss. The director took to Instagram to share his last picture with the late singer-composer and wrote, “Bavatha our last pic together.” He also shared another group photo featuring Yuvan Shankar Raja and friends.
Venkat, the elder son of Gangai Amaran, is the nephew of Ilaiyaraaja. Earlier, during the funeral of Bhavatharini, Venkat broke down inconsolably. Along with his cousins and friends, he sang Bhavatharini’s National Award-winning song “Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu” from Bharathi during the last rituals.
Bhavatharini has sung for Venkat Prabhu’s films Goa (“Yelelu Thalamuraikkum”) and Maanaadu (“Meherezylaa”).

Actor Guru Somasundaram of Joker fame commented on Venkat Prabhu’s post. He wrote, “May you find strength and solace in the memories you shared together. She will be dearly remembered by us through her divine voice.”
Bhavatharini was diagnosed with the fourth stage liver cancer. She was undergoing treatment for the same in Sri Lanka, where she breathed her last on January 25. She was 47.
Venkat Prabhu, who was busy with the works of his upcoming film Greatest of All Time, starring Vijay, has taken a break after the loss. He has already wrapped up a Thailand schedule of the movie, which has Vijay in dual roles.
Other than Vijay, the film also stars Meenakshi Chaudhry, Laila, Sneha, Prashanth, Prabhudheva, and Mohan in important roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing music for the movie. The project marks Venkat’s first collaboration with Vijay, and it is expected to be released later this year.
