The shooting of Jigarthanda Double X, which began on December 12, 2022, lasted over six months. Produced by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam and S Kathiresan under the banners of Stone Bench Films and Five Star Creations respectively, Tirru has handled Jigarthanda Double X’s cinematography, while Shafique Mohamed Ali is in charge of editing.

Santhosh Narayanan has composed the songs for the film, which also features Malayalam actor Nimisha Sajayan in a pivotal role. The Tamil original version of the movie will be released alongside the Telugu and Hindi dubbed versions.

Recently, director-actor SJ Suryah had shared a tweet praising filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj and his vision. Saying that he completed a schedule after shooting for 36 days with his co-star Raghava Lawrence, Suryah tweeted, “36 days ek dham ore schedule #JigarthandaDoubleX what a schedule, what a concept, what a set, what a photography, what a expense, what a production value thx a lot for this opportunity @karthiksubbaraj sir &what a man @offl_Lawrence.” He also described Raghava Lawrence as an “excellent man” whom he had a chance to meet.

Talking about the movie, Subbaraj recently said, “I am happy that we have been able to lock Diwali 2023 as the release date for Jigarthanda DoubleX. It’s an ambitious project given the love that the predecessor, Jigarthada, received. I am confident that this film will be a worthy successor to its prequel.”

In a recent interview with Galatta, Karthik Subbaraj expressed his immense admiration for SJ Suryah and said, “First I liked him as a director and then I saw the actor in him and my admiration for him remained resolute. He has such a passion for acting.”

Additionally, he shared the story of his encounter with Raghava Lawrence in 2016 and the narration of Jigarthanda Double X, mentioning, “Though he liked it, we, however, did not proceed with it then as it had only been two years since Jigarthanda came out.”
