Dhruv Vikram, the son of National Award-winner Vikram, has had a rather sedate start in Tamil cinema. His debut film, Varmaa, was shrouded in controversy over the makers reshooting the entire movie after being dissatisfied with director Bala’s version of the film, and bringing in Gireesaaya to make it as Adithya Varma (2019). Then, his next movie, Karthik Subbaraj’s Mahaan (2022), which had him co-star with his father Vikram, became a direct-to-OTT release on Amazon Prime Video. Dhruv then moved on to Mari Selvaraj’s Bison – Kaalamaadan, which went on floors in May 2024. Now, the makers have revealed that the film has been wrapped up, and it is on track for a summer release in 2025.

The film has been shot in places around Tirunelveli and Chennai. With the shooting wrapped up, it is expected that the Bison makers would reveal the release date soon.
