Jayam Ravi’s next titled Genie: Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Wamiqa Gabbi roped in for the project

Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan has indeed elevated the career of actor Jayam Ravi, who played the titular role in the historical fiction. The actor has now landed a mega-budget project titled Genie, which is produced by Vels International, which recently made Silambarasan’s Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu. The film will be the biggest project in Jayam Ravi’s career after Ponniyin Selvan. Arjunan Jr, an erstwhile assistant director of Mysskin, will be making his debut with the project.

Genie was launched in Chennai with the cast and crew members in attendance. Keerthy Shetty, Wamiqa Gabbi, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Devayani are other actors part of the star cast. AR Rahman, who composed music for PS 1 and 2, will be joining hands with Jayam Ravi again for the project.

The film marks the 25th venture of Vels International, and according to the official press release, the production is planning to make it a grand film. Yanick Ben, a popular stunt choreographer who has worked in Hollywood and International films, is roped in for the action sequences. Mahesh Muthusamy will be handling the cinematography and editing by Pradeep E Raghav.

Genie will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Iraivan, Siren, another untitled film with Krithika Udhayanidhi are other upcoming projects of Ravi, who was last seen in PS 2.
