After years of being mostly controversy-free, Jayam Ravi finds himself at the centre of one of the biggest issues he has faced in his personal life. In September, a day before his birthday, Ravi issued a statement that he was dissolving his marriage with wife Aarti, and has been proceeding legally to get separated. A day after his birthday, Aarti, in a statement, revealed that she was blindsided by Ravi’s decision to divorce. In between all this, there were reports that speculated that Ravi’s purported relationship with singer Kenishaa Francis was the reason behind this decision. While Ravi and Kenishaa have categorically denied these allegations, they seem to circle around the actor, who is currently busy with the promotional drive of his upcoming Diwali release, Brother. Acknowledging that a sense of privacy is a tough ask for cinema stars, Ravi said, “Anything I do gets highlighted. People like cinema, and they like talking about actors. So, there is no point judging them for it. We can only let things be.” But Ravi asserted that the only way to move forward as a society from such behaviour is to develop a sense of individual responsibility. “Some people have the maturity to not spread rumours. Some don’t care about the intensity of the matter, and want to breach privacy. Why should I bother about all this when I know what I am.” ALSO READ: Jayam Ravi responds to rumours of relationship with Keneeshaa Francis: ‘Don’t involve anyone… she has saved so many lives’ On the movie front, Jayam Ravi, who is awaiting the release of Brother, his maiden colalboration with director M Rajesh known for his comedy entertainers, is set to turn director next year. He also has a few acting assignments lined up, and is in talks to star in a direct Hindi film. However, there have been no official announcements about these projects.
