With the release of Vikram-starrer Dhruva Natchathiram, Gautham Menon seems to have pulled off something that was once thought to be impossible. Hence, mixed reactions have flooded social media. Many fans compared their lives with the film’s journey.

One such X user shared how she was in her college second year when Dhruva Natchathiram’s teaser was unveiled. The user is currently an IT employee with three years of experience in the field. Another user, a father of a three-year-old daughter, was a bachelor when the teaser was released. The director reacted to the tweets by recalling how “there has been a lot of learning” during the making of the film.

Gautham wrote, “There’s been a lot of learning since then, I’ve directed and released 3 films, 4 anthology shorts, 5 music videos and developed a keen 6th sense (sic).”

Gautham Menon even turned into an actor in the meantime. In a recent interview, the director shared that he turned into an actor to complete Dhruva Natchathiram with the remuneration from such acting stints.

“I never went asking for such opportunities. It came to me by itself. But I did that only because I could use that remuneration to fund Dhruva Natchathiram and finish it. I didn’t get in to serve the art. I have told no to many films as a service to art because it felt wrong. A few films were bad experiences. But thankfully the creme de le creme roles came to me. They were also good experiences and they paid me well that I am here to tell you today all the acting chops helped me finish this film,” Gautham said.

Dhruva Natchathiram is a story about a covert team that is on a mission to save its founder from danger. Other than Vikram, the film stars Parthiban, Radhika Sarathkumar, Dhivyadarshini, Maya, Vamsi Krishna, and Vinayakan in important roles. Harris Jayaraj, Gautham’s frequent collaborator, has composed the music for the movie. Dhruva Natchathiram will be released in theatres on November 24.
