The trailer of Shree Aadya Films’ Marathi venture Ishq Wala Love was released on YouTube on September 2. The film marks the directorial debut of Renu Desai and has Binod Pradhan as Director Of Photography. The family entertainer stars Adinath Kothare, Sulagna Panigrahi, Bhargavi Chirmule, Leena Bhagwat, Satish Pulekar, with Swapnil Bandodkar and Guru Thakur in guest appearances. Produced by Akira Films, it is slated for October 10, 2014 release.

 

Mahurat of Welcome Zindagi

The mahurat of the Marathi film Welcome Zindagi was held on September 1. The main cast, Swapnil Joshi and Amruta Khanvilkar, participated in the maha aarti at the Ganpati pandal at Mumbai’s Ganesh Galli. Also present on the occasion were producer Bibhas Chhaya and director Umesh Gadge. Welcome Zindagi is to be produced by Ajjit Satam, Sanjay Ahluwalia and Bibhas Chhaya.

 

Veteran Telugu director, artist Bapu passes away 

Renowned Telugu film-maker Bapu, also an acclaimed artist, painter, cartoonist and illustrator, passed away in Chennai on August 31 due to a cardiology-related ailment. He was 80.
Beginning his career as a director in 1967 with Sakshi, which was then screened in international film festivals, he went on to direct about 50 films in his career. His last film was Sriramarajyam in 2011. He received several coveted honours, including Padma Sri from the Union government in 2013 and the prestigious Nandi Award of the Andhra Pradesh government.
