Sushant Singh treads a cautious path
After being acclaimed for his villainous character, Mandar Mhatre in Hate Story 2, Sushant Singh is in no hurry to sign offers that have been coming his way ever since the film released

After being acclaimed for his villainous character, Mandar Mhatre in Hate Story 2, Sushant Singh is in no hurry to sign offers that have been coming his way ever since the film released. “The phone has started ringing and people, especially the studios have noticed my performance. I am hoping that they will consider me for their projects,” says the actor. While, the offers have started pouring in, Singh says that since his character became immensely popular with the masses, the kind of roles that are being offered to him are also more or less on the same lines. “There is no point in repeating myself so soon. From an actor’s point of view, the role should be challenging and inspiring, something that will allow me to expand my boundaries as an artiste. It is very easy to fall into the trap of Mandar Mhatre, but then that would be cheating the audience. I want to do consequential roles and not something on the sidelines,” he stated.
The actor according to his own admission has nothing grandiose on his plate. But he is excited about his role in Neeraj Pandey’s Baby, starring Akshay Kumar. “I cannot reveal my character, but it is an important role. We will start shooting the second schedule in October, maybe in Delhi and Mumbai. Beyond that, because of the confidentiality clause, I cannot tell you much,” said Singh.
