India Bank Holiday Today: Banks across India will be closed today, Friday, January 2, 2026, on account of New Year’s Celebrations / Mannam Jayanthi, following the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) 2026 holiday calendar.

According to the RBI, banks across multiple cities, banks in India will remain closed for 10 days in January. Citizens are advised to check the holiday list in advance before planning a visit to their bank.

The RBI designates bank holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, which include both RTGS holidays and other regional and national holidays, in addition to the mandatory weekly days off on the second Saturday and Sunday of each month.
