Surfing through mushland

Your friendly tube is all set do heartwheels on Valentine’s Day with special romantic episodes lined up for the day. From declarations of love to exchanging marital vows in front of Taj Mahal to getting steamy, television is in a mood to celebrate love. Here’s what you should watch out for

Qubool Hai

Taj Mahal wedding for Asad Zoya

The makers of Qubool Hai are going out of the way to ensure that Asad and Zoya have a fairytale wedding, after having gone through their trials and tribulations. Interestingly, the wedding sequence has been shot against the backdrop of Taj Mahal. It’s a first for any serial to have a sequence shot against the renowned monument of love. Surbhi Jyoti, who plays Zoya in the show, is very kicked about the wedding sequence. “It was an ‘Oh My God’ moment for me. I always knew that whenever the Asad-Zoya nikaah happens, it will be a grand one. But that it would happen near Taj Mahal was unimaginable.” Raqesh Vashisht, who recently replaced Karan Singh Grover as Asad, says, “I would really like to take this opportunity to thank the viewers for accepting me in this role. As for the Taj Mahal wedding, I feel really privileged. This nikaah is something the viewers have been looking forward to, and it’s time we give them a memorable treat,” says Vashisht, adding, “Someday I’ll renew my marraige vows again with my wife (Riddhi Dogra) in front of Taj.”

Yeh Hai Aashiqui

Shilpa Saklani and Karan Vir Bohra to team up

Yeh Hai Aashiqui’s Valentine’s Day special will feature Shilpa Saklani and Karan Vir Bohra for the first time together. Saklani, who was last seen on reality show Bigg Boss 7, will be seen in a fiction show after a long time. The story in this episode is about Aditi (Saklani’s character) dating Rohan (Karan Vir), who is eight years younger to her. Commitment phobic, Aditi runs away when Rohan asks her to marry him. She returns when Rohan is about to marry another girl. Saklani says that the story is similar to Devdas. “I was told it’s a Valentine’s Day episode. In the process of having shot it, I can assure that the episode is full of love and passion. I’m glad I did it because I love the whole idea of mushy love. I guess it’s good to send out a message for people to fall in love,” she says. The actress who’s been on a break from television before Bigg Boss, says that she said yes to be a part of this episode of Yeh Hai Aashiqui, only because it’s full of love and passion, and she’s looking forward to doing much more work from here on.

Jodhaa Akbar

Jodhaa wins over Akbar

In last week’s episode of Jodhaa Akbar, Jodha (Paridhi Sharma) almost sacrificed her life to save Akbar (Rajat Tokas) from Benazir’s (Meghna Naidu) poison. While Jodha is battling death, the stone-hearted Akbar finally breaks down and confesses his love for her. The show is slowly moving to a romantic track between the duo, just as the Valentine week commences. The viewers may get to see a little bit of romance between the two, even though Jodha is yet to confess her love for Akbar. The duo will be seen visiting their kingdom together in ordinary clothes and sharing some sweet moments.

Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai

Rajveer confesses his love for Simran

In Life OK’s show Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai, Rajveer (played by Gaurav S. Bajaj) takes his first wife Simran (played by Sukriti Kandpal) out on a date and finally confesses his love for her. He tells her that he is not in love with his second wife Rajjo. He also admits to putting up an act about losing his memory. However, his second wife also discovers this truth. This is the second season of the show. The show started off as a love-story between a typical Haryanvi boy, Rajveer and a Singaporean modern girl, Simran, and her escapade to settle in and win over the patriarchal Haryanvi family. Later, of course, the twists and turns followed.

Jee Le Zara

Dhruv-Saanchi get intimate after marriage

After the initial hesitation to tie the knot with Dhruv (Ruslaan Mumtaz) as his mother didn’t approve of her, Saanchi (Sangeeta Ghosh) finally relents and gets married to him. The Valentine’s Day special episode of Jee Le Zara will see the couple getting close and intimate. Despite the age difference between the couple with Saanchi being older than Dhruv, the chemistry between the two have been appreciated so far. It would be interesting to see the audience’s reaction to their intimate scene. Meanwhile, the audience will also get to see Dhruv’s family’s reaction to his marriage, as well as his fiance Ankita (Hunar Ali). Time will tell if Dhruv’s family accept Saanchi?
