Homeland to air simultaneously in India, US

The new season will also have Indian actor Suraj Sharma essaying an important role along with Damien Lewis in the show that is being shot in Cape Town

Damien Lewis almost didn’t do Homeland Damien Lewis almost didn’t do Homeland

The fourth season of the American political thriller television series Homeland has begun with a good news for the Indian audience that they would be able to watch the show on Star World Premiere along with its broadcast in America.
Interestingly, the show, which will have a Pakistani backdrop this time, is currently being shot in Cape Town, South Africa. It would see many new actors including Suraj Sharma of Life of Pi, Raza Jaffrey and Michael O’Keefe.
Apparently, Damian Lewis (Nicholas Brody), the face of Homeland, will be noticeably missing this time as his character was hanged in the last season. The actor recently also confessed that he had to be really persuaded by his agent to take up that role. “I was very reluctant to do the TV show,” he said.
His American agent asked him to read the script once. Quoting him, Lewis said, “Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa are involved, they ran 24 for the last five or six seasons. Claire Danes is doing it, Mandy Patinkin is on board. This is the one that everyone’s talking about. Just read it.”
“I very nearly didn’t do it, for personal reasons,” Lewis admitted. “But there were just too many compelling reasons to do it, so I did and I’m extremely happy.”
