Hate Story 2
Music: Meet Bros Anjjan, Arko, Mithoon, Rashid Khan
Label: T-Series
The soundtrack of Hate Story 2 is like a blend of various tunes, as each song has been composed by different music directors. All songs in this four-track album have a remix version as well. The album opens with a below average re-created version of Aaj phir tum pe (Dayavan). Singers Arijit Singh and newbie Samira Koppikar do a good job, but the pace of this romantic number becomes boring after the first 30 seconds. The song falls flat when compared to the original.
Kabhi aayinepe, penned by Tanveer Ghazi, is decent. The use of soft sounds, a nice chorus and good use of the guitar makes this number worth a hear. It’s amazing to hear K.K again, who sings the song very well, making it the best track of this album. Khushboo Grewal of Baby doll fame sings the quirky, fast-paced number Pink Lips. Honestly, the lyrics by Kumaar sound more like a lip balm advertisement jingle than a song. But, the composition by Meet Bros Anjjan is good. The last track, Hai dil ye mera is a nice, soulful number. The combination of Mithoon’s composition and Singh’s rendition makes for a nice number, but it’s not extraordinary. All the remix versions that follow are below average and can be skipped. Overall, the Hate Story 2 album makes for an average affair.
