The recently-concluded Lakme Fashion Week Summer – Resort 2014 saw a lot of celebrities bonding with their favourite designers, the most amazing one being the camaraderie shared by Priyanka Chopra and designer Neeta Lulla. Chopra, who had earlier walked the ramp for Reliance Trends last year, turned up as the showstopper for the same brand once again, with Lulla as the designer this time. After walking the runway like a true pro, Chopra welcomed Lulla and after posing for photographs, hugged the designer and exchanged a few words on the stage. The moment made for a wonderful photo-op for those around. “I love Neeta’s work. Her creations are minimalist, something that can be worn everyday and I enjoyed walking the ramp again,” said Chopra at the after event press conference.
Runway diva
All eyes were set on Kareena Kapoor Khan, as she sashayed down the runway in a stunning Rajesh Pratap Singh creation at the grand finale of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer – Resort 2014. But what really caught everyone’s eye was the confidence and ease with which she carried off the futuristic look. One couldn’t help but look at Khan’s best friend and designer Manish Malhotra cheering loudly for the actress from the front row, as she smiled, winked back at him and continued posing for the cameras. The best part? While walking back, she posed in front of each audience block for a few minutes, so that they got an opportunity to take pictures of her. Everyone around loved Khan’s presence, with a few adding that this was definitely one of her best walks on the ramp till date.
Bollywood bhakt
He is known to be an unabashed Amitabh Bachchan fan, but it doesn’t end there. A conversation with Pakistani singer turned Bollywood actor, Ali Zafar will reveal that he’s completely into Bollywood films and music. He’ll rattle of film names from Devdas (Dilip saab’s) to Sholay to 3 Idiots, among his favourite Hindi films. He narrated an incident : “I had fractured my arm as a child once and was advised bedrest for a month. For that one month, I saw only one film — Mr India. Everyday. Without fail.” He laughed at the memory, adding that he met Anil Kapoor at a film event recently, and told him about it. “I met Mr Anil Kapoor at the Gunday premiere, and I told him about having seen Mr India for a month. We had a really long discussion on the film,” he said.
