Anu Malik turns Tarzan for Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi

Renders a wild club number with daughter Anmol

Anu Malik Anu Malik

Composer and singer Anu Malik, who is known for his unique voice, has sung a rather wild and crazy club number for Balaji Telefilms and Getaway Films next, Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi. Although Malik hasn’t composed the soundtrack of the film, the makers were keen to get him board for the Tarzan song. Malik adds, “I got a call from Balaji and I thought that they want me to compose a track for their project. When I reached their office, I was informed that since my voice is very unique and is liked by several fans, they wanted me to sing this really energetic dance number.”
During the meeting, Parichay, the composer of this track, played the tune, which Malik thought was extremely catchy but he was a little skeptical since it was in a high octave. “I had to say yes in a short notice but I didn’t know if my voice would go well with the song. Ultimately, when I said yes, we recorded the song the very next day and I realised that the beats are infectious. The club style rhythm is massy and will definitely connect with the audience. Infact, they also made me do the Tarzan call and a rap, which took some time, but we nailed it,” said Malik, who will also make an small appearance in the song.
It was Parichay who decided to rope in Malik’s daughter, Anmol, for the female verses. Malik confessed that although there were just a few lines reserved for the female singer, Anmol’s skills impressed everyone and Parichay worked around the composition to add more lines for her. “For a father and an artist, it is a huge compliment,” quipped Malik.

Agnee to compose for Mango

Popular rock band Agnee has composed the music for Abbas Tyrewala’s next, Mango. The band has worked on urban instrumentation and melodies for the film, which was the requirement. “It’s a fantastic soundtrack which will appeal to the urban music lovers. We have tracks sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Arijit Singh. I too have lent my voice to one song. The rhythm is contemporary, a far cry from the usual dance or romantic numbers that one gets to hear. We have used a lot of electronic dance music sounds as well. The album will include stuff like a rock ballad, a pop EDM number, some unplugged tracks and more,” stated Mohan Kannan, band member and lead vocalist.
They have also composed three unique tracks for Janki Vishwanathan’s Yeh Hai Bakrapur. After discussing the film’s narrative and theme, the band members decided to add their own flavour to the songs, keeping in mind the plot of the film. Kannan adds, “The whole idea was to add something more to the film’s narrative, in a melodious yet cheeky way. Each track belongs to a different genre and blends well with the plot. We also have a song titled Om Shanti Om, which has some influence of a few popular Shah Rukh Khan songs, since the goat in the film is his namesake. We have in no way tried to create additional tracks just because there is an album.”
He also added that they didn’t work according to a brief, except for the song Pyaar mein bakra. The rest just got created as they moved ahead with the project.

India’s strategy: Remain quiet, don’t give in, wait it out for now
After Trump doubles tariff, India’s strategy: Remain quiet, don’t give in, wait it out
Explained32 min ago

US President Donald Trump may have doubled the tariffs on India to 50 per cent, but New Delhi is not alarmed or unduly perturbed; rather the government seems to be prepared to wait it out for the next few weeks or more — deal with his increasing frustration by remaining calm.

It has taken an unequivocal call that Trump cannot tell India not to trade with Russia or distance itself from BRICS.
