A schizophrenic comeback

It was just meant to be a month-long appearance on Sanskaar Dharohar Apnon Ki, but given her popularity Pooja Kanwal’s role has now been extended. Kanwal who appeared on a TV show after a year and a half break, is back to doing younger roles post pregnancy. “The character of Deepika that I’m playing is very rare, so I just grabbed it. Since the character is a schizophrenic, a lot of homework went into it. I spoke to psychiatrists, I read up on such patients, their mannerisms and transitions.” Interestingly, Kanwal earlier played bhabhi to actor Jay Soni in Sasural Genda Phool, who is her love interest in Sanskaar…
As hectic as television gets, especially, when handing a baby, Kanwal is totally loving her character. “I guess when you are satisfied as an actor, that’s what keeps you going. Basically, the adrenaline rush I get in playing the character of Deepika is such that it keeps me on my toes,” says the actress.

NDTV launches India’s first 2-in-1 channel

NDTV has introduced India’s first 2-in-1 channel — NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime. While NDTV Profit will operate from 9 am to 5 pm in association with the National Stock Exchange Of India, after 5pm onwards and on weekends, the channel will sport the NDTV Prime avatar, that targets the 25+ male audience. The channel will cover genres like Technology, Auto, Property, Education, Careers, and Entertainment. Among the major shows on the channel, is Videocon d2h Ticket to Bollywood — a reality show that will give two lucky winners, an opportunity to star in a Bollywood film. NDTV Prime, which has Shah Rukh Khan as the face of the channel’s campaign, was recently unveiled by Priyanka Chopra.
