Best Actor Popular Choice (Female)

Deepika Padukone (Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-leela and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani)

Success kissed her feet even as a child, having represented her school at the national level badminton championship. For the daughter of Badminton champion Prakash Padukone, Deepika Padukone, forsook sports for the arclights, making the screen her playing ground to showcase her histrionics. She made her acting debut with Kannada film Aishwarya in 2006, following which she made a mark in Hindi flick Om Shanti Om in 2007 opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Within a short span of six years, she has carved a niche for herself and has become the most sought-after actress, after a string of hits like Chennai Express, Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram-leela, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Race 2 which jettisoned her into the only actress to enter the `100 club for four times in a row.
With an impressive run, it was natural then that the coveted golden lady was awarded to Padukone in the Popular choice award for all the four films, at the 20th Annual Life OK Screen Awards.

“I still haven’t been able to digest the fact that I’ve won the Screen Award for Best Actor (Female) in both the Jury and Popular segments. But this year has been great for me. I’m just extremely happy!” — Deepika Padukone
