Ed Sheeran ‘swaps performances with kids’ on his second visit to India, treats them to private concert: ‘Great being back’

International singer Ed Sheeran will be performing in India for the second time on March 16. Ahead of his highly anticipated concert, the singer visited a school in Mumbai and ‘swapped performances with the kids’. Sheeran shared a heartwarming video on Instagram which shows the school kids performing for the singer, followed by him serenading them with his hit track “Shape Of You”.

Soon after landing in Mumbai on Tuesday, Sheeran headed to a school in Mumbai. In the clip, he says, “I just arrived in Mumbai, India, I am going to be visiting some schools, play some songs and I heard that the kids have something to play for me as well.” The clip then shows him cheering for young kids as they get up on stage and perform for the singer. The video concludes with Sheeran taking up his guitar and performing his hit tracks for the children.

He wrote in the caption, “Visited a school in Mumbai this morning and swapped performances with the kids, so much fun. Great being back in India too!”

Ed Sheeran will perform in Mumbai for the final leg of his +–=÷× Tour (Mathematics) on March 16 at Mahalaxmi Race Course Grounds. This will be his second concert in India. His previous performance in India was in 2017, where he not only graced the stage but also attended a star-studded Bollywood party hosted by choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan.

The party saw the presence of celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor along with his wife Mira Rajput, Malaika Arora, Bhumi Pednekar, and Neha Dhupia. However, following the circulation of viral photos from the event, there were speculations among fans that Sheeran might not return to India, as he appeared uncomfortable amid the overwhelming attention and adulation.

Ed Sheeran has proved these speculations wrong. His upcoming concert will open with a performance by Prateek Kuhad and followed by special guest, Calum Scott. Sheeran will take the stage at 7:15 pm.
