Veteran Malayalam actor Sreenivasan, who is also known for his films as a director and screenwriter, was not doing well for the past few years. Now, the renowned artiste seems to be back to his form–at least that’s what his recent interviews seem to be hinting at.
Sreenivasan is known for his witty and straightforward opinions. In an interview with The New Indian Express, he was again candid about politics, PM Narendra Modi, and cinema. But the highlight of the interview is his answers about Malayalam superstar Mohanlal with whom he has worked in films like Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam, Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu, Gandhinagar Second Street, Nadodikkattu, Akkare Akkare Akkare, Midhunam, Chandralekha, Kilichundan Maambazham and Udayanaanu Thaaram.
When asked what was the issues between him and Mohanlal, Sreenivasan said, “There were plenty. I have openly called out his hypocrisies. I want to write all these before I die.” Despite the criticism, Sreenivasan will be teaming up with Mohanlal in a film that would come out next year.
In the interview, Sreenivasan also opened up about his equation with Mammootty. He was quoted as saying, “Once I went to see Mammootty wearing a new sunglass at the night. He stared at me for a while as if I were a competitor to him. He then beckoned me to his room and opened a box containing 17 sunglasses. It was as if he was threatening me not to dare to outsmart him. (laughs)”
