(Image: Amal/Instagram)Director Amal Neerad’s Bougainvillea, with an ensemble cast including Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Jyothirmayi, Sharaf U Dheen, Veena Nandakumar and Srinda, has been making waves ever since initial reports about the project emerged. The recently unveiled posters of the movie have already piqued the audience’s attention, particularly for their use of striking blood-red tones and the sharp and intense looks of the actors. Now, the team has amplified the excitement by revealing another poster along with the movie’s official release date.
Co-written by Lajo Jose and Amal, Bougainvillea is bankrolled jointly by Jyothirmayi and Kunchacko Boban under the banners of Amal Neerad Productions and Udaya Pictures, respectively.

Just two days ago, the makers had released the first track titled “Sthuthi,” along with its music video which has already earned 1.9 million views on YouTube. Although the song is set to a fast-paced dance beat, its lyrics, mood and visual style are anything but that and encompass a slightly sinister undertone, even as the lyrics reference Christ. This eerie vibe is further highlighted by the haunting hook, “A memory to last till your death.” Both the posters and the music video suggest that Bougainvillea will maintain Amal Neerad’s signature stylish approach, much like his previous works.
Marking Amal’s return to directing after more than two years since the blockbuster Mammootty-starrer Bheeshma Parvam (2022), Bougainvillea is set to hit theatres worldwide on October 17. Anend C Chandran has served as the film’s cinematographer, with editing by Vivek Harshan and music composed by Sushin Shyam.
