Delhi Metro Phase 4 update, Delhi Metro latest update: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has commenced construction on a new stretch of the Golden Line, marking the first section outside the Phase-IV priority corridors where physical work has started. Considered to be the lifeline for Delhiites, the Delhi Metro is also the longest metro network in the country.

The DMRC has started construction on the Saket G Block–Lajpat Nagar corridor under the Phase-IV project. On Friday, the First Test Pile and Ground-Breaking Ceremony for this new Line 11 corridor was held at Pushpa Bhawan near Saket, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of Delhi’s metro network.

According to DMRC, the first Test Pile symbolizes the beginning of major civil works, laying the foundation for this new metro corridor.

The 8.385-km-long Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block Corridor will be elevated and will comprise of 8 metro stations. These are as follow:

  • Andrews Ganj
  • GK-1
  • Chirag Delhi
  • Pushpa Bhawan
  • Saket District Centre
  • Pushp Vihar
  • Saket G Block

The Saket-Lajpat Nagar Metro stretch of Golden Line will be an important link in South Delhi. It has been designed to enhance connectivity and provide seamless integration with existing metro lines. This upcoming section will not only ease travel for lakhs of commuters but also strengthen the city’s sustainable transport infrastructure.

Several important areas of the south Delhi such as Greater Kailash-1, Saket, Greater Kailash, Pushp Vihar etc will be benefitted by this corridor. Many reputed schools, government offices etc will also have better Metro access after the completion of this line.

The Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block Corridor will seamlessly connect with the existing Magenta Line at Chirag Delhi, as well as the Violet and Pink Lines at Lajpat Nagar.
