The Fazilka police Thursday night arrested four persons, including the main accused, in the murder of 25-year-old Akash alias Golu Pandit in the parking area of the Abohar court complex earlier in the day.
Those arrested have been identified as Gagandeep Singh alias Gaggi Lahoria, Sushil Kharagwal, Vishu Nanda and Aman alias Tota.
The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on the complaint of Avinash Pandit, father of Golu, against eight named persons and three to four unidentified suspects under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. Avinash Pandit is a priest in Abohar’s Jodi Temple.

The four other named accused who have not been arrested till now are Arsh Lahoria, Gogi Bishnoi, Sahil Kharwas and Arpit Kharwas, besides the unidentified individuals.
According to the police, Gaggi Lahoria is the main accused and had even posted a video on Instagram hours after the shooting, claiming responsibility for killing Golu Pandit. In the video, he alleged that Golu Pandit and his associates had attacked him in the past and had been threatening to kill him, which he cited as the reason for committing the crime.
The firing incident occurred around 10.30 am on Thursday in the parking space meant for lawyers inside the court complex. Golu Pandit was returning from a hearing in an Arms Act case when he allegedly clashed with Gaggi, who had also come for a court appearance. During the confrontation, the assailants, who arrived in a white car, allegedly fired five to six rounds, killing Golu Pandit on the spot.
Gurmeet Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka, said, “The arrested accused will be interrogated, and the police expect to recover the weapon and vehicle used in the crime soon. Efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accused.”
