Interestingly, it was at the same Guruvayur temple that Kalidas' parents Jayaram and Parvathy, one of Malayalam cinema's most beloved couples, got married in 1992, during the height of their film careers.

Actor Kalidas Jayaram, son of Malayalam power couple Jayaram and Parvathy, tied the knot with model Tarini Kalingarayar in a traditional ceremony at the Guruvayur temple on Sunday. Kalidas and Tarini looked radiant in their matching red traditional attire.

Among the prominent attendees was actor-MP Suresh Gopi, currently serving as the Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, who shares a close friendship with the couple’s family. Kerala’s Minister for Public Works and Tourism, PA Mohammed Riyas and his wife Veena, the daughter of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, were also present. After the ceremony, Kalidas and Tarini expressed their gratitude to the media, thanking everyone for their love and blessings.

Interestingly, the Guruvayur temple holds sentimental value for Kalidas’ family. It was here that Jayaram and Parvathy, one of Malayalam cinema’s most beloved couples, got married on November 7, 1992, during the height of their film careers. Their wedding drew a massive crowd, with fans gathering to celebrate the union. Reflecting on the occasion, Jayaram shared, while addressing the media after Kalidas and Tarini’s wedding, “We are truly happy. I am very delighted that Kannan (Kalidas) and Taru tied the knot in front of Guruvayoorappan (the deity at the temple). The participation of the people and the support we received is beyond words. People came from all parts of Kerala. I am truly grateful that, just as people gathered to witness our wedding 32 years ago, they came to celebrate our son’s wedding as well.”

Earlier this year, in May, Kalidas’ sister Malavika Jayaram married her fiancé Navaneeth Gireesh at the same Guruvayur temple. Parvathy also shared her joy, noting that 2024 had been an eventful year for their family, filled with one joyous occasion after another.

A native of Masinagudi in the Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, Tarini Kalingarayar was the third runner-up in the Miss Universe India 2021 competition. Though a graduate in visual communication, she chose modelling as her career and has worked with several brands. She and Kalidas had been in a relationship for quite some time before getting engaged last November.

Kalidas Jayaram, following in the footsteps of his iconic parents, began his acting career at the age of seven, playing Jayaram’s son in director Sathyan Anthikad’s Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal (2000), which won the National Film Award for Best Malayalam Feature Film. His role in Sibi Malayil’s Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum (2003) earned him the National Film Award for Best Child Artist.

After a 13-year hiatus, he made his debut as a lead actor in the Tamil film Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum (2016). His other notable works include Poomaram (2018), Putham Pudhu Kaalai (2020), Paava Kadhaigal (2020), Oru Pakka Kathai (2020), Vikram (2022), Natchathiram Nagargiradhu (2022), Indian 2 (2024) and Raayan (2024).
