Will real life couple Aishwarya,Abhishek’s chemistry click in ‘Happy Anniversary’

This is turning out to be a season for husband-wife pairings.

What Sanjay Leela Bhansali could not do,ad man Prahalad Kakkar has done. Hes got Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to give her approval to his directorial feature film debut titled Happy Anniversary. This is the first film acting assignment that Ash has agreed to be a part of since the birth of daughter Aaradhya in 2011. Happy Anniversary is based on the concept of an anatomy of a marriage and thus it’s fitting that Abhishek Bachchan will star opposite his wife. The film goes on floors early next year in South Africa. Gaurang Doshi of Aankhen fame will serve as the films producer.

Bollywood corridors were buzzing with many casting calls for Ash. It was said that she would be marking her big return in the remake of Masoom. Then came the news that she will be making a song ‘n dance appearance in Bhansalis Ramleela,which was ultimately bagged by Priyanka Chopra.

Kakkar and Ash go back a long way he directed her in numerous ads and was also her neighbour at La Mer building in suburban Bandra. Happy Anniversary will be the seventh screen outing of Ash and Abhi together. They have previously acted together in ‘Dhai Akshar Prem Ke,’ ‘Kuch Naa Kaho,’ ‘Guru,’ ‘Dhoom 2,’ ‘Sarkaar Raj’ and ‘Raavan.’ Not to forget the iconic ‘Kajra re’ in ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ where Ash jived with both the Bachchan men.

This is turning out to be a season for husband-wife pairings. Rishi and Neetu Kapoor are co-starring in Abhinav Singh Kashyaps Besharam. The couple,known for their musical youthful hits in the ’70s,is turning out to be equally loveable in this phase of their working life. Besharam will be their fourth recent appearance after Do Dooni Chaar,Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Love Aaj Kal. In Besharam where they are joined by son Ranbir,they play the roles of Haryanavi cops.

Moving on to Ranbirs cousin Kareena Kapoor Khan,she has agreed to do a last minute-but-important cameo in husband Saif Ali Khans forthcoming production,Happy Ending. Trade buzz is rife that Ajay Devgn and Kajol will soon be headlining a film together.

A real life jodi that clicks in reel is a sure-shot recipe for a good marriage (pun intended). No wonder then that our star couples are ready to say “I do”.
