Silk Smitha’s brother objects to ‘The Dirty Picture’
Vara Prasad is upset that makers have gone ahead and made a film on his late sister without taking permission from family members.
Whenever our filmmakers try to make a film on some real life person, controversies are bound to arise. The latest is the case of Ekta Kapoor’s ‘The Dirty Picture’ based on the life of South sensation Silk Smitha.
While the promos of ‘The Dirty Picture’ have really caught on,it seems to have irked V Naga Vara Prasad (brother of Silk Smitha). Vara Prasad is upset that the makers have gone ahead and made a film on his late sister without taking permission from the family members. He also feels that the film projects Silk Smitha in an obscene manner. Vara Prasad has now sent a legal notice to the makers and if he doesn’t hear from them,he plans to send a second notice through his lawyer at the Hyderabad High Court.
Meanwhile Milan Luthria, director of ‘The Dirty Picture’,refused to comment much on this controversial issue and just said that his lawyers are looking into the matter. We have recieved a notice and our legal team is looking into it, said Tanuj Garg,CEO-Balaji Motion Pictures.
