Sandra Bullock,Demi Lovato donate $1 mn each for Japan
Oscar winning actress Sandra Bullock and Disney star Demi Lovato have donated USD 1 million each towards earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan.
Oscar winning actress Sandra Bullock and Disney star Demi Lovato have donated USD 1 million each towards earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan.
Dozens of celebrities used their social network accounts,including Twitter,to urge fans to support the cause with small donations,reported Los Angeles Times online.
The Red Cross has received USD 2.6 million since March 11 in USD 10 donations sent through cellphone text messages.
This is not the first time that the 45-year-old Bullock has donated for disaster relief. Last January,the actress gave USD 1 million to Haiti,following the tragic earthquake there. She is also a strong supporter of the rebuilding efforts in New Orleans.
Lady Gaga was the first to come to Japan’s rescue and designed a prayer band to raise money and in 48 hours she raised USD 250,000.
