Reese Witherspoon struck by car while jogging

Witherspoon became box office sensation and A-list Hollywood star in her 'Legally Blonde' comedy movies.

Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon was hospitalized with a minor injury after she was hit by a car while jogging.

According to the police,the ‘Walk the Line star’ was running in Santa Monica when she was mowed down by a vehicle motoring along at approximately 20 miles per hour,TMZ reported.

Witherspoon was crossing the road while the accident happened as the driver,an 84-year-old woman,failed to stop.

“The actress was not seriously injured and is resting comfortably at home,” said a statement from her representative.

Witherspoon,35,was taken by an ambulance to a nearby hospital where she received treatment for minor injuries.

The woman was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
