The insider added: “The kids are going through a hard enough time as it is,trying to get to grips with why mummy and daddy no longer live under one roof. Peter simply wanted to make sure his lawyers were fully briefed on the situation,and are looking out solely for the children.”

There are also rumors that Reid is starring in a new porn film,which he insists is just a gangster flick.

The source said: “Pete’s number one concern is the welfare of his kids. He has nothing against Alex,but Peter has been rocked by the ongoing sordid revelations about Alex’s private life,and now his career.

“But the crux of the matter is that he and Kate only split up three months ago and she’s been dating Alex for a matter of weeks.”

While Peter arranged an emergency meeting with his legal team,Alex was busy playing happy families in Brighton with Peter’s four-year-old son,Junior.
