Akshay loves Prabhu Deva’s southern ‘tadka’

“Akshay has been simply bowled over with the manner in which Prabhu directs his scenes”,said a senior unit member,”At the script level itself,Akshay was quite impressed with what Prabhu had promised around bringing on table. However,it is the sheer execution of the printed word which is impressing Akshay the most. All of a sudden he is seeing flashes of many an action film that he had done during the 90s. He is enjoying every moment of the making of ‘Rowdy Rathore’ since Prabhu is bringing back ‘masala’ in a very contemporary avatar.”

It’s a different matter though that Akshay didn’t quite go gaga over Prabhu Deva at the very beginning of the film’s shooting schedule.

“It took time for Akshay and Prabhu to warm up to each other. The two take some time in getting comfortable with people. They are thorough professionals and let their work do all the talking”,sources said. “It was after 8-10 days of working on the film that Akshay got a complete hang of how Prabhu shot the film. There has been no looking back ever since then as the duo can be seen in quite a few animated discussions around how to take the film forward.”

“They are definitely bonding and for Prabhu too,it is a step in the right direction since the only other Bollywood actor he has worked with so far is Salman Khan (Wanted). It is good for him too to see such a senior actor show immense trust,faith and confidence in him”,he adds.

While the film is already over 50 per cent complete,Akshay is now waiting for the real deal on the film – ‘hardcore action’.

“So far,the film’s shooting has revolved around quite a few dramatic scenes. However,the kind of action which is expected from a Prabhu Deva film,and something which is also going to be the USP of ‘Rowdy Rathore’ is yet to be canned”,the source informs,”It won’t be long before Akshay would be getting into kicks and punches in the way Prabhu deems fit for the film. Both of them want to go all out in ensuring that action stands on its own here. While Akshay has worked in over 50 action films in the past,he is taking ‘Rowdy Rathore’ as a new learning curve as dictated by Prabhu.”
