‘Akshay,Kareena share ‘explosive’ chemistry on screen’

Sabbir Khan, director of 'Kambakkht Ishq',said the film dared to dream big and approached it with sincerity.

Debutante director Sabbir Khan, whose maiden movie ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is all set to release on July 3,said that makers of the film dared to dream big and approached it with sincerity.

“My story was about a stunt man and hence the backdrop had to be on the film industry. I and producer Sajid Nadiadwala felt that Bollywood as a backdrop of a film had been done to death and hence we decided to base our story in Hollywood,” Khan said.

Khan lived in Los Angeles for a year to work on pre-production before actually starting for the shooting and “it was difficult to get permissions for shooting in Hollywood, but we managed it”.

Sabbir said he wrote the story keeping Akshay Kumar in mind. “I know Akshay since the time I worked as assistant director for ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’,’Heyy Babby’ and ‘Janeman’. Akshay told me that he would like to work with me whenever I turn an independent director,” the filmmaker said, adding Akshay and Kareena Kapoor share an “explosive” chemistry on screen.

“They have worked in seven films together earlier. But,they look a fresh pair in my movie,” he said. “Right casting is half the battle won,” the director said.

Sabbir said Sylvester Stallone,Denise Richards,Brandon Routh,Holly Valance play important cameos and are an integral part of the film.
