Munna Bhai and Circuit are one of the favourite duos of Bollywood. However, its not just on-screen that actors Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi share a great bond, but also off-screen, they have got each other’s back. In a recent conversation, Arshad Warsi opened up about an incident when the duo almost got into a fight with a few foreigners in Bangkok, when they were there for the shoot of their 2006 film, Anthony Kaun Hai?
In an interview with Unfiltered By Samdish, Arshad Warsi shared a funny incident that also involved Farhan Akhtar’s sister-in-law Anusha Dandekar. He said, “Should I tell you a funny incident? Usually these things should not be said, but because its with Sanjay, I think I can say it.”
He recalled, “We (Sanjay and Arshad) were shooting for the film Anthony Kaun Hai? in Bangkok. After the shoot was over for the day, Sanjay and one of his friends there, Bittu, as well as Anusha Dandekar who was part of the film, we decided to go out for dinner. So, Anushka was walking a little ahead of us, I was behind her and Sanjay and Bittu were behind me. Two foreigners eve-teased Anusha Dandekar. They were well-built.” The actor then joked, “For me, everybody is built-up”.
He quickly went back to narrating the incident and said, “They were drunk so they started to circle around me. We were all set to get into a fight. I too stood up against them. Suddenly, I realised Sanju and Bittu came and stood behind me. Both of them are extremely well-built. Now, the tables had turned. We were about to start the fight, when we suddenly realised people were recording us, so our attention was suddenly directed towards asking people to stop recording.”
He added, “This confused the foreigners. They were wondering what possible issue did we have with the cameras? Suddenly, a group of people started to shout ‘Baba, baba, baba’, this made the boys think we were some local don or so and they ran away. It was a very weird scenario.”
On the show Long Drive with Mr Faisu, the actor opened up about his bonding with Sanjay Dutt, “He is a great person. Very sweet. I find him very strong. He has gone through a lot of things. He is a very loving person. I get random messages from him. He sends ‘Bro, I miss you’ or he calls and says, ‘Bro I am in Africa, do you want anything?’”
Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi have starred together in the films Munna Bhai MBBS (2003), Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), and Anthony Kaun Hai? (2006). The actors will be soon seen in the film Jail, written and directed by Siddhant Kumar Sachdev. Arshad Warsi will also be seen in the film Jolly LLB 3, alongside Akshay Kumar.
