Former Miss Universe and actor Sushmita Sen suffered a massive heart attack earlier this year. She was shooting for Aarya 3 when she had to undergo an angioplasty and had a stent placed in her heart. The actor had taken to social media to inform fans about the same, and also spoke about getting to work soon after.

Now, in an interview, Sushmita shared that she feels ‘lucky’ to be on the other side. She added that the health scare has made her value life more. “It was a phase and it passed. I am very lucky to be on the other side,” she told News18. The Main Hoon Na actor added that it has made her more responsible and she has now learnt to value life more. She said, “It doesn’t make me fearful now, instead I now have a feeling of promise, of something to look forward to. When you get a new lease on life, you respect it and are more careful.”

Apart from Aarya 3, the actor next has Taali in the pipeline. The JioCinema original is based on the life of the transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant. In the same interview, the actor said that Taali is her way of ‘paying an ode to the struggles and triumphs’ of Shreegauri.
