Sushant Singh Rajput case: Actor Rhea Chakraborty’s brother responds as CBI clears them of charges

Rhea Showik Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty shared his reaction on his Instagram stories by posting a video of himself walking along a mountain with Rhea, captioning it: “Satyamev Jayate (Truth alone triumphs).” Both siblings were arrested in 2020 in connection with an alleged drug case that surfaced after Sushant’s death. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had accused them of coordinating drug deliveries for the late actor.

Meanwhile, the CBI registered an FIR on August 6, 2020, naming Rhea, her parents, Showik, and two others on charges including abetment of suicide. The FIR was lodged based on a complaint filed by Sushant’s father alleging that their actions drove the actor to take his own life. This investigation was separate from the NCB’s probe and that case is still pending.

Showik Chakraborty shared his reaction on his Instagram stories by posting a video of himself walking along a mountain with his sister Chakraborty.

Sushant Singh Rajput, who was 34 at the time, was found hanging in his apartment in suburban Bandra on June 14, 2020, prompting the Mumbai Police to register an Accidental Death Report (ADR). Known for his performances in films such as Kai Po Che! (2013), Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015), MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), Kedarnath (2018) and Chhichhore (2019), his final appearance was in Dil Bechara, which was released posthumously.
