Gujarat Confidential: Remembering Sardar Patel

On the occasion of 75th death anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on December 15, a day-long programme will be organised in Karamsad in central Gujarat’s Anand. It will include a ‘Rashtriya Ekta Mahayagna’, the release of a book on the life of Sardar Patel and felicitation of 75 persons who have made contributions in national interest across the country.

Patidar community leader Chirag Patel said the event has been organised by the Sardar Mission and Sardar Patel Research Institute. He added that the Sardar Patel Research Institute is a registered group in Uttar Pradesh whereas Sardar Mission is a non-registered ideological group devoted to spreading Sardar Patel’s ideology. Chirag, who is part of both the groups, is one of the top Patidar community youth leaders who was active in the 2015 Patidar quota agitation.
