The trailer of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is here. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles and is directed by Shashank Khaitan, who helmed Janhvi’s debut film Dhadak and also Varun’s previous films of the Dulhania franchise – Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
The trailer shows Varun and Janhvi as heartbroken Sunny and Tulsi after their partners, Ananya (Sanya Malhotra) and Vikram (Rohit Saraf), decide to break up with them and tie the knot with each other. Learning that their exes are getting married, Varun and Janhvi devise a plan to woo them back and break their wedding. Tulsi and Sunny fake a relationship to make their exes jealous and doubt their decisions.
In a scene, the star kids, Janhvi and Varun, even have a cheeky moment when they argue over who is more middle class between them. While Varun says he gets Rs 50,000 as salary from his dad, Janhvi says for her it is Rs 25,000. At this, Varun says, “Tu middle-class nahi, lower middle-class hai”. Varun and Janhvi flaunt their relationship online. However, during all this pretence, they end up falling for each other. The film is filled with dance numbers, fights, and drama.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is the third installment of Dharma Productions’ Dulhania franchise. Earlier, Varun starred in the franchise’s two films, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, along with Alia Bhatt. The film also stars Maniesh Paul and Akshay Oberoi in supporting roles and is set to release on October 2, on the occasion of Dusshera. It is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan. The last two films in the Dulhania franchise were hits, and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is expected to keep up the momentum. Karan shared the trailer on Instgaram and wrote, “Disclaimer: This festive season, the only ‘EX-xxxrtra’ thing served will be revenge and chaos!🥳”
Varun is in need of a hit as his last two films, Baby John and Bawaal, were box office failures. In fact, his last big hit was in 2020 with Coolie No 1. Janhvi, on the other hand, was seen in the romantic drama Param Sundari, which achieved moderate success at the box office.
