Sunny Deol says his home kitchen is operational ’24 hours a day’ for visitors, reveals ‘booze ka nalka’ at son Karan’s wedding was free-flowing
Sunny Deol spoke about his family's tradition of expressing their love through food and drink, and said that the kitchen at their home is operational at all hours of the day.

Actor Sunny Deol spoke about the large-heartedness with which his family has always, and continues to treat its guests. He said that since his grandmother’s days, the rule of the house has been that the kitchen will be operational at all hours of the day and night, so that anybody who visits is fed properly. He said that the same spirit could be seen at his son Karan’s wedding recently, where alcohol was flowing freely.
In an interview with Mashable, Sunny was asked if the stories about people being fed at his house, as if it was a gurudwara, were true. He said, “The kitchen runs 24 hours a day at our house. It has been like this since my grandmother’s time.” Asked about his older son Karan’s recent wedding to Drisha Acharya, and if it was a typical Punjabi wedding, Sunny said, “Yes, it was like the alcohol tap was always open.”
Despite this, Sunny said that he doesn’t drink, and nor does he understand how people can stomach alcohol either. “It’s not that I didn’t try. When I went to England, I drank to fit in, but I never understood it. It’s so bitter, such bad smell, and gives you a headache, so why drink it?” Sunny said that he had a lot of fun prepping for the wedding, where he danced to the song “Main Nikla Gadi Leke,” from Gadar.
The actor recently delivered the biggest hit of his career, Gadar 2. But neither of his sons – Karan and Rajveer – were able to replicate his early success with their first films. While Karan debuted with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas some years ago, Rajveer recently debuted with Dono.
