Days after calling off her wedding with composer Palaash Muchhal, Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana shared an Instagram post that has now gone viral on social media. The video shows Smriti talking about how she calmly handles chaos. The post was part of a paid promotion for a popular smartphone brand.

In the clip, Smriti says, “I let my calm do the talking and my belief do the heavy lifting.” She added, “Ownership isn’t a title, it’s a mindset.” In the caption, the cricketer wrote, “For me, calm isn’t silence – it’s control.” Fans cheered for Smriti in the comments section. A fan wrote, “Keep making India proud SM! You deserve nothing less than the best.” Another comment read, “Yeahhh… Smriti is back.” The post garnered 10 lakh likes in less than 24 hours.

On December 7, Smriti Mandhana broke her silence for the first time on her postponed marriage with Palaash Muchhal. She declared that the wedding had been called off and requested privacy. Her note read, “Over the past few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around my life and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person and I would like to keep it that way but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off. I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same. I request you to please respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us the space to process and move on at our own pace.”

She concluded, “I believe there is a higher purpose driving us all and for me that has always been representing my country at the highest level. I hope to continue to play and win trophies for India for as long as possible and that is where my focus will forever be. Thank you for all your support. It’s time to move forward.”

Smriti Mandhana’s post came after her wedding with Palaash Muchhal was postponed when her father was hospitalised on the wedding day. Meanwhile, rumours also started about the possibility of Palaash being unfaithful. Palaash was also hospitalised in Sangli, where the wedding was supposed to take place, but later returned to Mumbai with his family. While the rumours and speculations took over, the couple stayed quiet. However, they both released statements on December 7, calling the wedding off.
