Shivankit Singh Parihar, known for his versatility as a writer, actor, and mimicry artist, is recently seen sharing screen space with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in Raj and DK’s Citadel: Honey Bunny. In a recent interaction, Shivankit shared how he initially feared being removed from his debut film, Dasvi, which starred Abhishek Bachchan, worrying that the actor might recognise him from a parody video in which he mimicked Amitabh Bachchan.
In a conversation on the YouTube channel Digital Commentary, Shivankit Singh Parihar was asked if he ever feared that his mimicry of big actors might land him in trouble. He responded, “I never used to think about it back then, but now, as I make inroads in Bollywood, I feel scared. In your 20s, you don’t fear anyone; you think, ‘I’m doing mimicry, what’s there to fear?’ Now, though, I worry about someone watching those sketches, especially if Amit ji (Amitabh Bachchan) sees the video of me mimicking him—particularly that Mowgli dubbing sketch. I wish that video would just disappear from the internet, but it’s not happening.”
Discussing his experience on Dasvi, Shivankit said, “I reassured the director that Abhishek probably wouldn’t recognize me since my appearance was quite different in the video. But I did ask, just in case Abhishek did recognize me, that they not throw me out of the film since it was my first movie.”
In Citadel: Honey Bunny, Shivankit plays Varun Dhawan’s friend and spy-mate. The series has been garnering attention for its well-choreographed action sequences. Citadel is the Indian spin-off of the American spy action series Citadel, which starred Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. It is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
