In another 10 days, Shah Rukh Khan will be back on the big screen for the first time this year, as Mufasa: The Lion King is set to hit theatres on December 20. Shah Rukh, who voiced for Mufasa in the The Lion King (2019), will reprise the character in Mufasa: The Lion King. While Aryan Khan, who voiced for Simba, is back for the new instalment, the father-son duo will be joined by the youngest of the family, AbRam Khan, who will provide the voice for young Mufasa.

In a special video shared by Disney Films India, SRK spoke about working with his sons Aryan and AbRam in this prestigious project, which also has Mahesh Babu voicing for the titular character in Telugu, and Arjun Das doing the voice-acting duties in the Tamil version. Reminiscing the first time he dubbed for an animation film along with son Aryan in The Incredibles, Shah Rukh said, “It was difficult as compared to today’s time.” Drawing parallels between the dubbing of his sons, the iconic actor said, “Both of them were very patient while working, and honestly, I wasn’t sure if they would actually display this level of patience at their age. But both of them prepared a lot for the project. They properly took time to learn their Hindi lines.”

Shah Rukh Khan had an interesting insight into the styles of Aryan and AbRam Khan. “When Aryan dubbed for The Incredibles, I think people used to speak a lot in Hindi, so dubbing for it was relatively easy. However, now, after almost 10-15 years, people are more akin to speaking in English. So, AbRam worked hard on the project. He learnt his 20-25 Hindi lines with his sister (Suhana). The whole family was involved in the film,” said the actor who also felt that Aryan and AbRam’s voices had a very similar and delicate tone to them.

Here’s the video:

Talking about holding the memory of working with Aryan and AbRam very close to his heart, Shah Rukh Khan said that it felt like a documentation or a repository of sorts for their voices. “What is exciting is that when I listen to Aryan’s voice from his previous film, it sounds very different to his current voice… And similarly, I am just hoping, it will be the same case when I will listen to AbRam’s voice after 8 or 10 years. It is a great memory to have kept the voice of Aryan and Abram with me in a film,” said Shah Rukh.
