Age is just a number for Shah Rukh Khan, who danced, sang songs from his films, and interacted with fans at a recent event in Dubai’s Global Village. The Jawan star even declared that, although he might be turning 60 this year, he feels not a day older than 30. During the event, Shah Rukh also spoke about his upcoming film King and revealed that director Siddharth Anand, who earlier helmed his film Pathaan, has strictly warned him against sharing any details about the project.
Shah Rukh’s comment makes it clear that Sujoy Ghosh, who was earlier reported to be directing King, isn’t helming the project. Speaking at the event, Shah Rukh said, “I’m not just shooting it here, I’m shooting it in Mumbai now when I go back in a couple of months. My director, who is Sidharth Anand, is very strict. He made Pathaan. So he is very strict. He said, ‘Don’t tell people about the film, what you are doing in it.’ So I can’t tell you but I can assure you it will entertain you, you will have fun.”
With his trademark humour, Shah Rukh added, “I’ve used many titles…Now we have run out of titles…Now Shah Rukh Khan as Shah Rukh Khan in King. Thoda show-off hogaeya (That was a bit of a show-off).”
The actor’s high-energy performance delighted the audience. He danced to songs from Jawan, including “Chaleya” and “Zinda Banda.” He performed on his film Ra.One’s track “Chammak Challo” as well and reminded fans that though he did a lot of hard work for the film, fans only remember this song. Shah Rukh also delivered his famous dialogue from Jawan, “Bete ko haath lagane se pehle baap se baat kar.” On the subject of age, Shah Rukh quipped, “I am turning 60 this year, but damn, I look like 30.”
Apart from entertaining fans, Shah Rukh took a moment to share an important message. He urged all men to respect women, saying, “Men around the world please show immense respect and listen to all women you meet. You have to understand them first and then do whatever you want. You have to show immense respect to every woman you meet.”
On the professional front, Shah Rukh will next be seen in King. The film reportedly also stars his daughter Suhana Khan in the lead role.
