Sayani Gupta recalls when an actor ‘lingered the kiss’ even after scene was cut: ‘That’s just indecent behaviour’
Sayani Gupta recalled two incidents where she felt uncomfortable on set.

Sayani Gupta recently opened up about a few incidents from her career where she felt that her boundaries were “compromised.” Sayani was talking about intimacy coordinators on set as she promoted her film Khwabon ka Jhamela and said that she has come across “indecent behaviour” on set where an actor has lingered on the kiss even after the director has cut the shot. Sayani did not mention the name of the actor or the project where this incident took place.
Talking to Radio Nasha, Sayani said that she was glad that India has now embraced the idea of intimacy co-ordinators and mentioned that she first worked with a professional intimacy co-ordinator in 2013 for Margarita with a Straw. She then said that intimate scenes are the “easiest” to perform because of their “technical” nature but then recalled her experience of working with an actor who behaved in an indecent way. “Having said that, a lot of people also take advantage and I have been in situation where an actor will linger the kiss even after a cut and you are like ‘uhhh’ and sometimes it’s very subtle but that’s just indecent behaviour,” she said.
Sayani then recalled another incident where she felt uncomfortable. She shared that this wasn’t an intimate scene and that they were shooting for Four More Shots Please’s first season in Goa. “I had to lie on the sand on the beach in a tiny dress and there were some 70 people in front of me including crew. I felt so vulnerable at that point because there were some 70 men sanding in front of me. There was not one person on set who was next to me, there wasnt even much staff also,” she recalled.
Sayani said that she wanted someone to stand next to her with a shawl but that didn’t happen. “It was a while ago, there wasn’t much staff also. There were 800 extras that day and I was like ‘I just need one person to be there with a shawl.’ There are many times, because we shot in such a rush that anyone’s safety is the last thing on anyone’s mind. It doesn’t have to be an intimate scene but sometimes your boundaries are compromised which is a general mindset that needs to be expanded,” she said.
