Sandeep Reddy Vanga asked for no interference in curating Animal soundtrack, offered to redo songs if Bhushan Kumar disapproved
Sandeep Reddy Vanga spoke about the music in his new film Animal, and said that he was given the freedom to curate the soundtrack as per the story's requirements.

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is on the cusp of delivering the biggest hit of his career with the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal, looked back on his experience working on Kabir Singh, especially when it came to that film’s music. After being urged by producer Bhushan Kumar to add certain songs to that film, Vanga assured him that he’ll handle the music of Animal himself, and even offered to redo all of it if it doesn’t work.
In an interview with CNN-News18, T-Series chief Bhushan Kumar praised Vanga for being a great collaborator. “He made great music this time. Normally, I being a music producer, get involved in the music. In Kabir Singh, I was behind him to add a few songs, and he gracefully added them. But this time, the arrangement was that he will make the music as per the film, which will work outside the film also. He clearly told me, ‘Sir, let me make the music as per the film, if you don’t like it, I’ll make another song’,” the producer said, adding that he couldn’t find fault with Animal’s soundtrack.
Vanga joked that the best thing about working with Bhushan is that if he wants to use an old song in his film, securing the rights aren’t an issue, because most probably, they’re held by T-Series. He also said that the songs in Kabir Singh weren’t tacked on, and went with the story. Vanga and T-Series will continue their collaboration on Spirit, starring Prabahs, and an untitled film starring Allu Arjun.
The Animal soundtrack includes songs such as the emotional number “Papa Meri Jaan,” the romantic track “Satranga,” the Punjabi track “Arjan Vailly.” Animal is headed for record numbers at the box office. The crime epic is expected to collect Rs 60 crore in India on opening day, and more than Rs 100 crore globally. This would make it one of the biggest debuts of Hindi cinema history, and the biggest of Ranbir’s career as a star.
