Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again delayed to Diwali; film will unite Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan

Singham Again was earlier scheduled to release on Independence Day, August 15, however Ajay Devgn said that the shoot hasn't yet been completed.

Singham Again to now release on Diwali 2024.

After Ajay Devgn hinted that his next film with Rohit Shetty — Singham Again — will be delayed, the filmmaker on Friday announced that the hotly anticipated action sequel will now be released on Diwali instead of Independence Day, as per the original plan. Shetty took to social media to announce the film’s new release date. Sharing a poster of Singham Again, he wrote, “Sher aatank machata hai, zakhmi sher tabahi! See you in the cinemas once again. This Diwali!.”

Singham Again is the third installment in the Singham series of films in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jackie Shroff, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor.

At the trailer launch of Neeraj Pandey’s Auron Mein Kahan Dum on Thursday, Ajay had opened up about why the film might be delayed.

When asked for an update on Singham Again’s progress and whether it will be released on August 15 as scheduled, Ajay Devgn said, “We are not sure, because the work on it is still going on. It is not complete. A little bit of shooting is still left to be done also. So we are not in a hurry because jaldbaazi mein kaam kharaab ho jaata hai. As soon as we are ready, we’ll decide.”

Rohit had earlier shared a BTS image of Ajay Devgn from the sets of Singham Again as they shot for the film in Kashmir. The filmmaker is introducing two new characters to his cop universe in the film — Deepika Padukone as cop Shakti Shetty and Tiger Shroff as ACP Satya. Singham Again will also bring together Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh on the big screen as Singham, Sooryavanshi, and Simmba, respectively.
