Rohit Roy says he called Karan Johar to ask for work, asked why is he not casting him despite praising his performances: ‘Why are you not…’

Rohit Bose Roy first gained fame when he appeared in the Doordarshan television show Swabhimaan back in the 1990s and since then, Rohit has appeared in many popular television shows and films. Recently, Rohit opened up about a time when his career went through a lull around 2013-2014 and how he went from shooting almost everyday to just shooting for nine days in a year.

When asked if Rohit, who is now in a much better place with regards to his career, ever called directors and producers in the film industry to ask for work, the actor revealed that he recently called Karan Johar and asked why the director wasn’t casting him in one of his movies. Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, Rohit said, “I have called people and said that I want to work with you. Recently, I called Karan Johar and said that I have known you for such a long time, I am doing good work, you say that I am doing good work, so why are you not giving me work?”

Rohit Roy said that he has now realised that everyone has their own set of struggles. “I have realised that there are so many people who are there, who are doing their own thing. Everybody is on their own struggle.” Rohit then laughed and said that Karan might call him after watching the interview and cast him in the sequel of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

“Maybe after this interview, Karan will call me and say that I am a part of Rocky Aur Rani Part 2,” he said. When the host joked if Ranveer would play his sidekick in the film, Rohit said, “That will never happen. He will play my younger brother.”

Previously, Karan Johar has worked with Rohit’s older brother Ronit Roy in his film Student of the Year.
