Actor couple Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, who are currently enjoying the appreciation for their first production venture Girls Will Be Girls, graced the fifth edition of SCREEN Live held in IIT Delhi. They were accompanied by the film’s lead actors Preeti Panigarhi and Kesav Binoy Kiron. During the session, Richa and Ali talked about their Indo-French coming-of-age drama, their personal life and much more.

Chef Suvir Saran, who is also a columnist at The Indian Express, asked Ali and Richa about their daughter Zuneyra. The Mirzapur actor said, “She is five months; we are missing her. It is the first time we have come away.”

Suvir then asked Ali how one can make the world safer for women. Ali said, ”We have to educate the men. They are having a serious problem with education. It is a systemic issue.” He passed on the question to Richa as he thought she would be a better person to answer it.

Having a five-month-old daughter of her own, Richa Chadha said, “It takes a man and a woman to have a child and it takes a man and a woman to educate the child. The way we conduct ourselves and the way we are in front of the world, it is a sign of our upbringing. A very famous French court trial ended today. It was said, ‘Let shame change silence. It is not the woman who should be ashamed of rape, it should be the man who lost control.’ It is a gender issue. We have to raise our boys in a better manner. Beta padhaao, beti bachaao (Educate boys, save girl child).”
