Rekha reveals her idea of true love on The Great India Kapil Show: ‘Sahi aadmi ho toh…’
On The Great Indian Kapil Show, Rekha shared her perspective on love and explained why, in her view, true love happens only once—if you meet the right partner.

It’s impossible for Rekha not to charm the socks off a room full of people, and her recent appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show proved no different. The veteran actor captivated the audience with her candid life experiences and humorous anecdotes. During the interaction with Kapil Sharma and team, Rekha shared her perspective on love and explained why, in her view, true love happens only once—if you meet the right partner.
At one point during the show, Kapil playfully expressed his confusion about poets’ contrasting takes on love. Rekha replied, “Mere khayal se agar sahi aadmi ho toh ek hi baar kaafi hai! Kitne baar, kitne aadmi karenge? (If the person is right, then falling in love once is enough)?” This had the whole audience erupt in laughter.
Rekha also spoke about the importance of self-love, a value she holds dear. She remarked, “Mera tazurba ye hai… main apni baat kar sakti hoon… sabse pehle toh main sab cheez se pyaar karti hoon. Kaam se, mere doston se, duniya se, nature se… lekin sabse zyaada main pyaar karti hoon khud se (As far as I am concerned, I am in love with everything. With my friends, this world, with nature… but I am most in love with myself).”
This wasn’t the first time Rekha spoke candidly about love. Her conversation on the iconic talk show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal remains unforgettable. During that interaction, Rekha had openly discussed her feelings for Amitabh Bachchan. She admitted to never having had a “personal connection” with her Silsila co-star but also confessed to loving him.
When Simi Garewal asked if Rekha had ever been in love with Amitabh Bachchan, she replied without hesitation, “Absolutely. Duh, that’s a dumb question. I have yet to come across a single man, woman, child who can help but fall completely, passionately, insanely, desperately, hopelessly in love with him. So why should I be singled out? What do I deny? I’m not in love with him? Of course I am. Duniya bhar ka love aap le lijiyega and add some more – I feel that for that person. Bottomline.”
