Like millions of Indians, Ranbir Kapoor is cheering for Team India as they face New Zealand in World Cup 2023 semi-Final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Ranbir is presently promoting his upcoming film Animal and he was at the pitch during the pre-match discussion. He recalled the time when he was at the same stadium back in 2011, when India won the World Cup.

Ranbir also spoke about his film, and tried to find some similarity between the team and his film. He said, “Animal is a family crime drama. It’s about how this character would go to any length to protect his family. It’s kind of similar as to how the country would go to any length to protect our team and to win the cup.”

Ranbir started the promotions of his upcoming Sandeep Reddy Vanga film a while ago and has been promising his fans a violent, crime drama. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna among others. Animal was previously scheduled to release in August, alongside Gadar, but the film’s release was postponed. Now, it will be clashing in the theatres against Vicky Kaushal-starrer Sam Bahadur.

Speaking about the film, the actor previously told PTI, “It is completely out of my comfort zone. As an actor, such challenges are important as it really shook me up. It made me work hard, and realise how inadequate I’m and how much I needed to work to reach a certain level.”

Earlier this year, Ranbir was seen in the romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar with Shraddha Kpaoor. He is yet to announce his next film.
