Actress Priyanka Chopra is all set to appear in SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Varanasi, co-starring Mahesh Babu. The team hosted a grand launch event last month, where the first look of the characters and the film was unveiled. And now it seems Priyanka might have unknowingly confirmed the whopping budget of this SS Rajamouli film. Recently, Priyanka Chopra appeared on the first episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 4. During the conversation, Kapil Sharma quizzed Priyanka about the film’s budget being Rs 1300 crores.
Responding to Kapil, Priyanka said, “Are you trying to imply that half of the budget has gone into my bank account?” Kapil further added, “Matlab to yahi nikalta hai (It seems pretty obvious).” Priyanka went on to say, “Aap ulta naak pakadne ki koshish kar rahe hai? (So you are trying to indirectly pin it on me).”
Later, Navjot Singh Sidhu also asked Priyanka what the film is all about and what the plot is like. Kapil Sharma quickly added, “SS Rajamouli didn’t let anyone know why Katappa killed Bahubali until the film was released. You think she will reveal the film now?”
Priyanka had also shared a few pictures with her co-stars from the film and penned a sweet note on social media. Last month, the Baywatch actress wrote on Instagram, “Working alongside these two legends of the Telugu and Malayalam industries, and coming together for an SS Rajamouli film, is already such a privilege. On top of that, we’re promoting our movie with the international media, almost a year ahead of its release! Seeing their reactions and the anticipation building is exciting to say the least. By God’s grace, we will live up to your expectations.”
After moving to Hollywood in 2015, Priyanka Chopra has featured in very few films in India; her last Hindi film was The Sky Is Pink in 2019. While fans were excited to see a sari-clad Priyanka holding a gun in the film’s first look, many are also excited to see her share screen space with Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. While not much is known about the film yet, as per reports, Priyanka recently began shooting for it in Hyderabad.
