Poonam Pandey says she pulled clickbait death stunt for cancer awareness, claims she did not make money out of it: ‘I want to apologise, feel terrible’
Poonam Pandey went live on Instagram and said that her friends are very upset with her but she added that her message about cervical cancer has reached the masses.

Poonam posted two Instagram videos on Saturday and informed her fans that she did this to spread awareness about cervical cancer and HPV vaccine. She also went live on social media and apologised to her fans and friends.
Poonam said on Instagram live that she wants to apologize to her friends and loved ones for hurting them. The actor added that she is feeling terrible and she is getting an insane number of calls and messages. After the news of death spread online, celebs like Kangana Ranaut, Munawar Faruqui, Karan Kundrra and Rakhi Sawant among others mourned her death.
She said, “I did not make any money out of it. It was purely for a cause. Nobody was willing to take this campaign. I know it was extreme, I sincerely apologise. I am glad that since yesterday all I am reading about is cervical cancer. My message has reached right. Every person in India is aware about cervical cancer.”

Poonam continued, “It’s a terrible feeling. I am shivering right now. My friends are very angry, and don’t know if they will even talk to me. My PR team had no clue where I was, I went underground.” The model revealed that she did this because a lot of people in India are not aware about cervical cancer.

An Instagram post on Friday on Poonam’s official handle read, “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”
