Priyanka Chopra says Nick Jonas invited her to go with him to White House for first date, she refused: ‘Didn’t want my heart broken’

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are one of the most famous celebrity couples right now, but when they first met, Priyanka was not ready for a long-term commitment. She said that since she was scared of being heartbroken, she did not go out with Nick for the first date which was to the White House for President Obama’s farewell dinner.

Speaking to Howard Stern, Priyanka said, “One of the first ones he asked me to was to the White House, for President Obama, a farewell dinner or something. I didn’t go. I was afraid of getting into anything at that time, I had been through the wringer and I was afraid of being heartbroken. Then we went finally to watch Beauty and the Beast at the Hollywood Bowl. Nick was smart, he invited me along with friends and the pressure of first date was off. I forgot what I was wearing but Nick remembers. That night we spent 8 hours together, and next day we went to a Dodgers game. I was excited to go and have alone time with him, I had butterflies and it was all uphill from there.”

Priyanka also then went on to talk about what it is like dating a musician, and when Stern said it must be magical, she agreed and added that one of the first times he wrote a song for her, she was swept off her feet.

“The first time he did that, that was a good night for him. We were driving to lunch. He said I will play something for you and the song had phrases I used, he asked if it was familiar and said I wrote this for you. I didn’t want to presume that this is for me or about me. But he said ‘I am not a man of many words, so my songs will be my love letters to you.’ That was what sealed the deal. When you know, you know,” Priyanka smiled as she gushed.

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra is currently seen in the Amazon Prime web show Citadel, where she stars alongside Richard Madden. It has been created by the Russo Brothers.
